Pre & Post Cruise Travel Arrangements
Let us help you book your Pre & Post cruise travel arrangements! Consider the following factors:
Do you plan to fly or drive to the port?
We highly recommend arriving at least one day before your cruise to avoid potential delays that could impact boarding your cruise ship. If you are cruising out of Alaska or Europe, we may even recommend arriving 2-3 days before. Be sure to discuss with your travel agent.
Flight times:
We always recommend earlier versus later flights to give you time to arrive if there are delays or cancellations.
For your return flight, consult with your travel agent about the recommended time to return. Most ports recommend at least a noon departure or later, to give you time to disembark, go through customs, retrieve your luggage, and take transportation to the airport.
We can arrange pre- and post-cruise hotel reservations near the port. There are a few options:
Attached to the cruise package through Disney: Disney usually offers limited group hotel rates at a select number of hotels near the port that can be added to the Disney cruise package itself.
Port Canaveral:
Hyatt Regency MCO - this hotel is part of the main Orlando airport, which is about a 45 minute drive to the port, and provides maximum convenience for those flying in and out of MCO.
Disney World hotels - these cannot be attached to a Disney Cruise package, but talk to your travel agent about whether staying at Disney resort may be best for your family.
Fort Lauderdale:
Hilton FLL Marina
Marriott Harbor Beach
Other ports: talk to your travel agent about Disney-arranged group hotel rates
Booked separately: your travel agent can help arrange pre- and post-cruise hotel reservations at the above referenced hotels or any other nearby hotels. Your travel agent can recommend locations and specific hotels based on your family’s needs, wants, and budget.
Ground Transportation - there are a number of options for your ground transportation:
Self-Drive: all ports offer at least limited parking for those who self-drive. There will be an overnight parking charge.
Disney Cruise Transfers:
Disney offers one-way and round-trip transfers from its partner hotels AND the nearest main airport
It is NOT required that you book the partner hotel through Disney or that you are staying there—you must simply get to the partner hotel in time for your transfer
In Port Canaveral, Disney also offers one-way and round-trip transfers from its Disney World resorts
Pricing is based on per person and depends on the port
Benefits:
Eliminates need to choose a “port arrival time” and “race” to the port. You’ll be able to check in and board upon arrival to the port, which is usually on the earlier side of the boarding window.
If you are staying at a partner hotel, your luggage will be gathered first thing in the morning, and delivered to your stateroom later in the day—so seamless!
Con: the price is high and for a larger group, a private transfer is often a little less expensive
Privates Transfers:
We partner with transfer companies in most ports to provide one-way and round-trip transfers. Most offer large enough vehicles for any party size and luggage count.
It is very helpful upon your disembarkation because there is no waiting involved—your driver will be waiting for you!
Uber/Lyft/Taxi:
If your party is not large and you’re not in a particular rush on the front or back end of your cruise, this is a very economical and workable solution for many families.
Nearby attractions/cities: be sure to talk to your travel agent about what activities and resorts may work for your family as a pre- or post-cruise add-on!
